Curriculum

From ages 3 to 16 there are 5 National Curriculum ‘Key Stages’

4-5 yearsFoundation Stage
5-7 yearsKey Stage 1
7-11 yearsKey Stage 2
11-14 yearsKey Stage 3
14-16 yearsKey Stage 4

(Pupils usually transfer to middle school at Stoke by Nayland in the September after their 9th birthday)

At the end of each Key Stage there are assessments and tests, organised on a national basis.  County screening tests are set for reading at 6+ and 8+.
